No-one here is denying that are Somalis behaving horribly in Turkey. I have family there, I can tell you that for free. However, what is completely BS is that the majority of Somalis are causing mayhem there. Also, noise pollution is definitely BS no matter what.

I'll give you a mission. Come back to me with a news article from Turkey talking about Somali crime or Somalis behaving irresponsibly. I have been combing through Turkish language news sites and Twitter pages for an hour now to prove myself wrong.

If there are then I will accept that it is not an exaggerated problem. However, if you cannot then it shows that Somalis may well have misbehaving individuals but it is not an endemic problem in the community there nor representative of its individuals.

I have searched on Twitter the phrases "Somalis in Antalya" "Somali Antalya" "Somali rent" and "Somali noise" "Somali rent Antalya" in Turkish.

My only hit kind of related to this was a tweet from 2013 of someone saying "another evening and Somali noise".

Wallahi I’m not joking. I wish I could find it to show you but they were all saying they would never live near Somalis. I was in shock because there were so many of them hating on us and they had their own personal stories about Somalis . Offcourse there was one Indian who joined in and said “ why would you guys ever let a “Somalian” live near you” A WHOLE CURRY SMELLING INDIAN. I can tell you Turkey are not doing what they do out of the goodness of their heart.

However, they want a few things that do not cost a lot of money. As we know, Turkey is trying to increase its influence in the world and sees Africa as a goldmine. It needs a country in Africa to be its springboard and its ally in the African Union. Somalia as a muslim majority nation fits the bill. They built good PR in Somalia and now other African countries are more accepting to Turkey after seeing how charitable they are.

Secondly, they know how important the Red Sea and Indian Ocean is, knowing that every major power has influence there. Even Japan has a base in Djibouti, Turkey is lagging behind. They want to have a strategic presence in the Red Sea and Somalia also fits the bill.

Building Somalia back up for them is an investment project. It means when Somalia stabilises, they have a state committed to their foreign policy objectives in the region. They want Somalia to support them in the Arab League and African Union plus to support their side of whatever is going on in the region.

It is still not an amazing situation to be in but much better than having our territory taken up.

Re-read what I said. Some are misbehaving but some of these stories are overexaggerated.

I highly doubt their community is as notorious as reer UK etc.
