Ways to end qabilism forever?

There's nothing wrong with qabilism, every country in the world has qabilism. From the West to the East many countries have qabilism, but here's the thing....

The problem is that Somalis are obsessed with "muh qabiil, muh rulez, muh squad, muh tuulo, muh peoplez " instead of nationalism.

Other countries have qabiil but they put nationalism over tribalism. They want their country to be seen as the best in the WORLD, rather than "Muh Qabiil iz da best". Successful countries put nationalism first and tribalism second.

The major upside is that diaspora millennials (and even millennials back home) are more ideological than qabilist. If they rise up and take control, your 50-year hope is possible. The power of qabil can dwindle fast if millennials have a bigger say.

But the problem is most don't want to go back to a war-torn country to invest in something they might not profit from, even other Africans who come from nicer countries don't go back so why would Somalis want to

It will keep becoming available in Somalia until the day Google or some big company sets up its satellite wifi for everyone. once people get internet they go on YouTube and interact with non Somalis therefore expanding their horizons after seeing that Somalis are treated the same by foreigners.

Qabiil can be good in some ways.

No, there's literally nothing good about it. If you think about it, all humans have extended family groups and the successful nations don't place value on their extended families. For example, Germans have extended family groups (what Somalis call Qabil) and yet there is no such thing as the Merkel clan that controls North Rhine-Westphalia. Compare Germany to Somalia.

No it won't become popular because we take 'odayaal' way too seriously and old habits die hard. A better plan is to push for a truly democratic system of government (even on the state and municipal levels) that is fully open (meaning anyone is allowed to run and vote). People will get used to it quick and people prefer someone who can make the trains run on time than someone from their clan.

Hold open, democratic elections with obvious safeguards (i.e. prosecute election fraud/rigging). Do this over and over and when people get used to being ruled by other clans (and ruling them), qabil will be irrelevant because it would have no advantanges. This would work especially well if candidates were elected based on their campaign issues. Proof that this would work is Farmaajo--he was popular throughout the country and even among non-Darods (although he recently shit the bed)

I don't think protesting would help, they would just think we're out of touch and idiots because qabil still has benefits in Somalia because your clan elders still have alot of sway to get you out of trouble, its a safety net over there that the government fails to provide, also its cultural so they might view us as westernized and gaal.Its better to invest, raise money for developmental aid or whatever

Tribalism in every form is bad. The problem is in the west it's west vs black (two big groups) while in Somalia it's clan vs clan, shit don't even make sense.

Even nationalism is bad if you think about it. Can't be a successful country if you can't see the flaws and criticize your nation if you love it too much.

One of the advantages of qabiil is the xeer system (or customary law). This lifts responsibility from the individual to the clan, meaning if a man commits murder, his qabiil will pay blood money for it and he's good to go. Imposing the rule of law and personal responsibility will permanently end the importance of qabiil.

You're right. Qabilism is part of our Cushite heritage. It is evil to ban it. We have to celebrate our loincloth wearing ancestors who danced wildly around campfires after tribal skirmishes under the influence of the noble leaf, jaad al-karim, and the Somali whisky - caano dameer.

Internet can have negative effects as well, I know lots of older Somalis who get all qabilist by watching specific youtubers or false news on facebook that aren't verifiable, so you should also know it can lead to echo chambers and its not all good, with our luck we might get extremist anti vaxxers qabilists

Okay I got a legit solution.

Ending poverty will end qabiil. Nobody has time for qabiil when you work a 9-5, send your kids off to school, and chill on the weekends.

Somali people back home do nothing all day but chew khat, talk qabiil, and occasionally kill each other over wells.
