As someone who knows very little about clans, I admire the clan structure and it’s function. One must note than clans were here before country and it is wildly unfair and unnatural to jumble them together into a country. It’s perfectly normal to put clan above country. At the same time however, you should understand shared interests and how a country is the place for it.

That was the case throughout the world. The world has evolved no one makes countries out of clans and the ones who couldn't move past it were either wiped out like the aboriginals or taken over by more civilized people.
I see your point. Every clan and sub clan can take their piece of land where they inhabit and call that a country. Makes perfect sense. I am personally in favor of pushing this clan independence down to the tiniest family unit in each clan.

Clans have shared interests and they should make an agreement to collectively pursue those interests as a government. There are many different forms of government but this would suit Somali clans perfectly. They simply need to get used to the idea that they won’t always like what the government does.
