Hawiye are poorly led, that is a fact. Somali's biggest problem is the Hawiye politician who does not value the lives and dignity of his people. Kismayo is surrounded on all sides by Alshabab but you rarely hear of an attack there, why? Ahmed Madoobe spends all the money from the port/Airport on soldiers' salaries to make sure his people are safe. Hawiye have been getting bombed non-stop for a decade now, the people have protested, but the two largest Hawiye cities, Xamar and Baladwayne, are today less safe than they were when Culusow took power.

I blame the loss of authority of Hawiye clan leaders who could have played a role in balancing the total disregard of the politicians. Italian direct rule and Siyaad Barre's creations of hundreds of nabadoons basically destroyed any hope for that.
