I'm well aware of misogyny being rooted in gay culture. I'm well aware of the sexism and homophobia lesbian women face. I'm not blind to it. I'll gladly make a thread about it so we can discuss it. However that doesn't stop me from supporting Gay rights. I am against gay marriage tho, doesn't make sense to me why gay men want to join a union connected to the oppression of women.

Abdi stop! You can make a point without posting false facts. Somali women do not have enough rights in our culture. Perhaps compared to Middle Eastern and East Asian culture. But even when compared to them we have a lot of problems and we rarley discuss these issues. When we discuss problems in Somalia we usually only discuss qabil.

But I'm pretty sure you've heard of the numerous cases of women being raped by police or the military and then being sentenced to jail by the government for 'lying'. The reality is, speaking out about rape in Somalia is much more dangerous than being a homosexual.
