not trying to spin anything. I couldn't care if someone told me a 14 year old had married. If the wife agreed to get married at 14 without anyone forcing her, not my problem to try convince her otherwise. Just don't bring that western mentality. The same western countries that give probation to pedos or less than 3 years in prison.
and to you a 14 year old has full faculties to make such a decision of that kind of magnitude? When 99% of the time they are coerced in the first place. And just because something is 'western' doesnt automatically make it false since maybe its based on logic and reason that 14 is the tail end of childhood.

The law your speaking of in America is the romeo and Juliet law. Where young people can marry and be in a relationship with other young people. You won't see a 16 year old married to a 40 year old.
A 14 year old cannot give consent. A 14 year old is not mature enough to make that decision. A 14 year old that says she is happy about the marriage has been coerced and groomed something that is typical for male predators to do. 14 year old getting married off is a crime. Don't try to justify pedophilia.
There's nothing positive about child marriage. Young girls being forced to carry a child while they themselves are children is a threat to their health.

Not sure who these people you're talking about are, but I do not try justify any crimes against a woman or child. I just don't see these actions through your eyes.
I don't see it as a crime if a 14 year old, male or female, marriages someone older. AS LONG AS THEY ARE HAPPY TO DO SO THEMSELVES. I think you're forgetting this. But if they agree, they have somehow been groomed? You keep saying forced. I keep telling you, if they are happy to do so with their own free choice, so am I to stop them?

A 14 year old does not have the capacity to understand and agree to marriage. A 14 year old is not mature enough to give consent. A 14 year old is at tremendous risk with her health if married and become pregnant. How come the majority of child marriages involve girls? How come the majority of children that are being molested are girls. Your argument is very flawed and incredibly misogynist. Children can not give consent. We should protect children from predators and pedophilia sympathizers like you. And yes you are justifying crimes against female. When people speak of child marriages we speak of young girls being married off to men 3x their age.
