Nope:
1. Poor hygeine , just look at the crinkled giant bag
2. General laziness in appearance. (off colors etc)
3. Giant jilbaabs which effectively render the women a floating face/eyes.

Honestly just from that picture i am 95% sure half of this women are in Ceyr and/or child-care scam.

Somalia has never been liberal, but it is more democratic than it ever has been. A few canonized photos of a small subset of Somalis on streets paved by italians isn't going to change that.

Asking if I hate the hijab when it comes to somali women today is like asking me if I hate the color brown when it comes to dirty water.

Think deeper not surface level.

It's quite simple, the western diet is to blame. If you notice one thing back home is you get tons of sunshine and many western Somalis have vitamin D deficiency. During the pre-civil war, exercising and going out were encouraged but most Somali women nowadays prefer staying at home and eating qashin. There is a lot of elements to it but one thing to clean this mess is if people back home decide to study and create the perfect diet for Somalis by making their own food instead of importing western food that is not suitable for their health. More gyms and parks need to be created. Schools must employ some kind of fitness and nutrition education. This would bring a positive shift to the culture.

I don’t think they look underweight, but when you’re accustomed to overweight people being a norm, healthy people start to look frail and thin.
