circled in red is the parts of the shithole world with sub replacement levels or nearing it. meaning their population will decline before they even have a chance to catch up with the first world countries

theres up upper tier second world countries and third world shitholes mixed in together but you get the idea. rich countries can handle a population decline because they are socially cohesive, GDP contraction is the worst case and they can feed themselves really, the poor ones who do not have the industrial base and rely on global trade for survival tho??? you could also lump the gulf in there since they import all of their food

africa is still holding out for now but you will see the same shit, starting with kenya. third world devloution will be happening

The East Asian counties are the most screwed out of all of them

In 2023 :

Japan approximate stats :
- 1.5 mil deaths
- 700,00 births
- Population decrease = -850,000

South Korea approximate stats :
- 230,000 Births
- 350,000 deaths
- Population decrease = -122,000

South Korea’s situation is more dire tho

The average fertility rate in South Korea is 0.72 , meaning the average woman in South Korea will have less than one child in her lifetime

At least the East Asians got a taste of first-world economic development for a short-while like when Japan was first booming for a good while between World War 2 and the 00s. The OP's point is that these countries won't even taste that before they begin declining the way the West is.

it will just be a contraction of the economy and a social reset. they will not devolve like the poor countries. theres a big gap between how this will affect the rich and poor. if kenya goes below 2.2 TFR they are DONE

also japan has higher TFR than many european countries (italy, poland, spain etc) and a higher social cohesion. it's main problem is that the elderly are just too many and will place a burden on the productive. the government was already doing work to promote natalism for some time now

people do this thing where they gawk at asians for this while ignoring how worse the problem is in europe, some racist bs about asian men being impotent

chasing development will be your downfall in this new century

Global Capitalism is so strange when you really look at it. I mean what was even the plan here? Base the entire economy and way of life around endless economic growth using a finite "master resource" like fossil fuels, let the rich get away with whatever and dodge taxes left and right while you proceed to blood-suck the middle and working classes to keep the system functioning until the cost of living becomes child-bearing prohibitive.

Then you just decline population wise while the fossil fuels run out and, despite all the bullshit around renewables, have no real replacement for fossil fuels in regards to industrial agriculture, widescale transport and logistics (i.e. shipping and planes), drain the planet of resources like minerals and topsoil then... what?

This was some of the most short-term, greedy and absurd thinking I've ever seen.

pakistan, egypt, haiti, bengaladesh, guatemala having sub 2.3 TFRs while being slum countries is some lunacy dawg. the rich will just be flying out when they cant squeeze enough money out. total devolution

ehiopia has 3 birth rate and addis ababa is the first sub saharen capital to be below 2
kenya also averaging 3, our neighbors are cooked
bill gates specifically targeted ethiopia with anti-natalist NGOs, hes a hero for this to me

i hope he targets nigeria and congo, tanzania with full force :mjlaugh:

He takes yearly trips to Ethiopia with the mission of depopulating it. Ethiopia has the strongest globalist NGO presence in Africa and it’s a bunch of baby boomers who have a Malthusian mindset. Bill Gates and the WHO are sterilizing oromos by the millions, meles won
need that in the congo and nigeria next

Over there they tend to take the problem at hand very seriously and are otherwise aware unlike the european countries you listed. The fact remains that countries like Finland, Norway, and Scandinavia all have high levels of Social cohesion. And their TRFs seem to be around the same level as Japan.

Yeah, essentially, it can feel like a system where the rules and benefits are not equally distributed across the world population. And its pretty apparent The resources needed to maintain these fossil fuels are already at low risky levels. Whereas compared to Socialism, which advocates an even distribution of wealth across all members of Society.

A Laandheere always pays his debts
This is why I am a critic of industrialisation. I always scuff and scrutinise when people say “the best way to develop is industrialise”, as if an epiphany hit them which no one else has thought about. But even if it was plausible (which it isn’t in most of the Global south due to the way the society is fundamentally structured imo), there should be questions on the outcomes and the effects of industrialization. Is it all good? What happens to the family, the nucleus of society, what happens to the rural?

We are actually seeing it to a minor extent now with Hargeisa and Xamar, two heavily concentrated urban cities within their region all flocking there and treating it like a mecca of opportunity. Result? Declining TFR. Given Somalia’s foundational economic resource is livestock, is this even a good thing? Surely a different approach to maximise agricultural (Agri-Tech for example) is better than urbanisation.
