Yanyuur is a Bantu word. The original Somali word is Bisad. An Ancient Egyptian cat deity was called Bastet (notice the similarity to Bisad).

Many Kenyan languages call cats Nyau:

Isn't huuno a affectionate word used for a female? I.e saying Huuno, how are you. Or Am I mistaken

It's used for both genders. I'm good if a chick calls me huuno, bit I don't like it when a guy calls me huuno. It's soft like aboowe. Just call me walaal and call it a day.

finally, someone saying “isaga”. I thought I was going crazy, “asaga” sounds stupid and can be confused with “asaagaa” which means your peers or people at your level.
