What do you guys think the new world order will look like once the American empire declines? Will we see a truly multipolar world with different regional powers competing for resources and influence, or will China take the dominant role for the next few decades (or even the next century)?

From a conservative perspective, it seems like the dilemma is whether they can “save” their country while losing their empire. But is that even possible, or is the fate of the U.S. too tied to its global dominance?

I don't think this will ever happen. The Chinese really seem to have no interest in exporting their culture or exerting soft power in the cultural way that the Americans historically have. They're very commerce and diplomatic power oriented when it comes to outside relations. They really only throw cultural weight around in their immediate neighborhood of East Asia and the South China Sea area.

Indeed! It was striking to me reading some of their historical texts when they made first contact with foreign peoples in far flung places, including our own forebearers, and you really don't see any interest in colonizing, exporting Chinese culture or anything like that. At best just building good conditions for Chinese traders; once again very commerce focused.

In a way they are more insidious though with all the half-African kids you hear about. I’ve also met many Asians who are like half-Chinese half-thai, half korean, or have recent chinese ancestors
