What has happened with the Luul Abdulaziz case?

I remember during that time there was a lot of news about appeals, etc. We all know her murderer got sentenced to death, but why is there no news about his death? Is this another case of the FGS doing fake sentences for the pictures and the news headlines, but as long as you come from a certain clan, nothing will happen to you behind the scenes? Even in a high-profile femicide case, Somali women are denied justice.

The last thing I remember is the perpetrators relatives & clanmembers threatening her family and the court, then I never heard from that case again

If a woman from a more powerful clan burnt her husband the extact same thing would happen. Women pay qaraan too
Disagree, she'd probably be shamed by her clan if this happened. A woman murdering her husband would be scandal worthy of social ostracism whereas for men it's another tuesday.

Lol you couldn’t be more wrong, before femicide cases started popping up, men were probably the most common victims of homicide in romantic relationships. Women did kill or burn their husbands due to jealousy and not a single one of their cases led to them being jailed or executed. Her family/clan paid diya (blood money) and that was it.

they’re even more lenient if the murderer is a woman I’ve noticed.

That isn’t right, all her clanspeople would be making tiktok lives defending her. We know this because it actually happened a few years ago

Jealousy of what? Are the cases proportionate to each other? Where are you getting these numbers? Women make up the vast majority of victims in intimate violence in somalia.

I'm talking real life, most old people in somalia are not on tiktok, and are mostly used by teenagers. In real life, she would be ostracized by the community at large

For someone who advocates for Somali women and even calls this a "high profile case", you couldn’t even get the victim’s name right. Yet, you try to blame the FGS when he has already been arrested. Mogadishu is the last place you should point fingers at. It’s the only place where you can get justice.

you literally just made this up, there was a time women would be k*lling their husbands left and right or pouring boiling water/oil on them, or burning them and they faced few, if any, legal consequences (except for diya)..

Holding women accountable legally is difficult in Somalia, women are seen as emotional and irritional, nobody really takes their crimes seriously

hell, they’re even lenient on female AS supporters
