They are Somali. Somalis are the purest of the ethnic Lowland East Cushites. They have preserved their genetics since 5,000 BC.

There is no genetic diversity in Somalia. All there are is 1) Ethnic Somalis 2) Recent migrant origin Bantus & Benadiri of Mideast stock. Last two don't count as local diversity.

As for linguistic diversity, it's not that big. Even with Af-Maay, it's still extremely similar to regular Somali from a linguistic perspective. With a little effort you will understand it, especially written down.

There is obviously a connection. 5000-4000 years is a long ass time ago and AfroAsiatic wasn't as big as it is today. All Afro asiatic people in the horn have a connection not just Somali though

There will be a global government with global open borders. Ethnic make up of the world will be very different from today.
