This is technically his grandmothers house. I don't think that guy owns anything due to him not chipping in any money, but I would rent them house for 3 months and also sell off the house as you said and give them 5k I think that a lot of money in Somali regions

I agree with you. His extended family should not live rent free in that house, they should be paying rent or move out when they were asked.

I know they don't owe him anything but he was once a family (the husband of the aunt AUN), and if he financially struggling I would help the uncle out and give him some money.

But there is banking information sxb. For instance average people just don't transfer large sums of money overseas or to siblings. With in those money transfers it has dates of when it was and you can correlate that with the time the house was built. Just something to think about

Besides the orphan part there are cheap house sxb he can purchase. I'd say if the house was 40-60 k given him 15k for him to find a house but everything thing has to be documented. Also you can purchase one for them for 15k
