Proper siju are those who live in the interior of Kenya and Tanzania this are the descendants of Somali soldiers who were brought by the British

Some of the weirdest people on twitter are them they want to excepted by other kenyans so badly it’s embarrassing Somalia from wajir mandera and garissa are normal but watch out for those who were raised in Nairobi and other areas

once you found most sijuis comprise of certain clan in somaliland it makes all sense

You will never touch the real sijuis. Yes they may not be completely conversant with the language, but you can't touch in terms of style, class and exposure. They have never mingled culturally or otherwise with the locals inspire of the 100 plus years in east africa. They practice a form of aloofness that is normally associated with aristocracy.

This is not true. Basically all of the current day sijuis are children of the Kacaan era. They were kids who grew up in wealth, went to study in Kenya. Some of them stayed after the civil war others went abroad.

The British SL sijuus settled years back with a much smaller population than current day sijuis, and some of them even married within the local population. They have a significant decades long stake in the business sector in East Africa. They’ve never shied away from their Somali roots (unlike some) despite having a legitimate case too. They’ve lived in Kenya for 100 years.
