My qabiil is sacad muuse but honestly I could care less what tribe im from

I see qabiil as an identity not something that defines me or something to brag about especially since theres soo many things that bring us together

Now If you stop and think for a second there are very few countries in the world that has pretty much the same ethnicity, pretty much the same Language pretty much the same religion and not Even just the same religion but Sunni islam more or less 100%

I know ill get people that Will tell me your qabiil is important and it's important to remember your history your heritage and It is

Im not saying you shouldnt know what qabiil you're from we have diversity it's Fine to know your qabiil but you shouldnt put that above what unifies us all

And that is that we are muslim first and foremost

Suicidal men adore me.
Qabil is a part of our culture and history. However Somalis need to understand that we are one ethnicity. We're not divided in different tribes, that would mean we look different, have different language and culture. Qabil could be a beautiful thing that would teach in schools but right now it's a medieval thing where men and are killing their own brothers because of a dumb belief.

And I don't view us as muslim first. We are Somalis there's no other ethnic group like us.

I see it as a double edged sword.
The question is will we Somalis ever learn to take the good and leave the bad parts of it behind, or is a such an outlook an impossibility in the Somali psyche?

There is no doubt that the ugly sides of qabiil/ tribalism has left its devastating fingerprints on every aspect of the broad Somali society for the whole world to see, would it then not be stupendously unwise to not re-evaluate this institution that has cost us so much suffering?

Education, education, education must be the mantra in dealing with the negatives of qabiil.

I believe someone who is truly educated is better equipped to navigate the perils of qabiil/tribalism.

It has little impact on my every day life but I generally wish well for them in the political scene, I come from a very hated and disliked clan, there are people who take joy in my kinsmen suffering so for that alone I say bring it the f@$* on!

Here we go again with the educated people are equipped to deal with the disease of qabiil/qabyaalad better blah blah.

Look at the diaspora and people back home. It's the diaspora who are filled with cuqdad and qabyaalad. Peope back home don't really care about qabiil especially city people.

The so called educated people are a lot worse when it comes to qabyaalad than the average non educated Farax's. :kobeok:

I completly agree with you hence my use of the word, truly.
I have observed this tendency and it is an enigma to be honest.

I guess when you're not in the receiving end of the actual consequences of the animosity you're instigating due to your peaceful and plentiful circumstances, then it becomes a mere vanity and boastfulness, a sporting game so to speak.
