Weak tone aside, he is right. There should be no problem with Ethiopia getting a port as long as they do it legally and with the consent of FGS. Ethiopia getting a leased port would be good business for Somalia since they have to pay Somalia to use it.

Likewise I wouldn't mind Somaliland leasing a port to Ethiopia either but they want a naval base which is a huge no no.

Okay, I understand that the reason why HSM wants to give options to Ethiopia to counter the illegal MoU in a diplomatic way but damn what a embarrassment he is. When the hell will it end? Ethiopia has constantly violated our sovereignty and HSM is still bowing down to them. I understand that if Ethiopia were to get the MoU through then Somalia would have a moral high ground over Ethiopia and would certainly be supported by all countries against their aggression but this is too much.

Tbf what can our president do? I love my country and people but we have to be realistic here.
We are weak and divided country.
It's hard to take a hard stance when people are still fighting along clan lines.
Ethiopia or any country can divide us if they wanted to.

why don't pro Somalia folks start a campaign to recognize Somaliland to stop Ethiopia gaining see access and create a military pact with Somaliland. Wouldn't that be a win win for everyone. This is considering the fact Somalia can't stop the MOU since its too weak. So they either have to watch it happen and hope another stronger country steps in and helps them or just hope it doesn't go through.
