Countries aren't built on handouts.

You control the resources underneath you so you can exploit it yourself.

Nothing is stopping the government's there from creating a business friendly environment for locals and taxing them.

Even if you can't attract large foreign direct investments; it shouldn't take longer than 2 decades to build some decent roads.

Keep on waiting for money to rain down from somewhere and solve all your problems.

It's true. You cannot succeed without recognition. Puntland is only doing better than Somaliland because we were recognised by Sri Lanka.
