Bro I joined this forum the same time as you late 2023. I used to spam hopium threads, and shi like how to fix Somalia, how to destabilise Ethiopia. Now idgaf, I’ve realised my insignificance and whilst I do sympathise with the plight of the Somali people. It’s really the people’s fault, can’t save someone that doesn’t want to be saved. Gradually we can move towards a Somali union like the US, but that takes time for a pan Somali movement to resurge considering social cohesion is decimated

That would have resulted in Somaliweyn being ethnically and culturally diverse today if we had absorbed and conquered all of East Africa, so the complete opposite of what you said about Somalia being one group and one language.



The truth of the matter is that Somalis were historically more interested in trade and religious missions, not conquests. The expansions we did do were driven more by economic interests and seeking new grazing and farming lands. That is why Somaliweyn exists, nothing beyond NFD and west of Hararghe interested us.

This is under the condition that Somalis subscribed to Somali Uniformity before Current Groups migrated to East Africa.

Bantus and Southeast Asians that inhabit Majority of East Africa's Mainland and Islands today came from completely different Regions and their Migration especially Niger-Congo Bantus took Centuries and Thousands of years.

Had Somalis operated in Complete Uniformity before these populations migrated then without a doubt Somalis would have taken all of East Africa for themselves.

There are countless ethnic groups that have face far worse than Somalis and yet we still stand with our language and group standing refusing to bow down and fall.

There are plenty of uneducated ones including Hispanics that managed to come to America and still launch businesses in their neighborhoods. I would definitely count them as a wasted potential for foreigners overtaking their neighborhoods economically.

They came later and are usually poorer. Hispanics only dominate by pure numbers. They're plagued by the same stuff as AAs, probably worse tbh. I love being somali and somali culture. But it gets tiring living in this cycle of nostalgia for country that your parents grew up in. Free school, free college, cheap and stable housing, women's liberation, little religious extremism. It makes me frustrated I might never see that in my lifetime.
