It has nothing to do with religion, some of the most happy people are South Americans and they are very relaxed regarding religion. I think it has something to do with the stressed daily life, lack of strong social connections with family, and even all the included there is something special about Cadaan that makes them sad and angry.

Canadians don't show their misery and depression. They fake their smiles and are very friendly but deep down they are just as miserable as the other whites.

According to their own words they love the culture of happiness and warm human contact they get from the local Thai people. For many Cadaan Thailand is so life changing experience that they never returns home or get obsessed with the country. Its all about psychology and culture. Nonsense every year 200000 Danes go to holiday in Thailand the large majority are families. Trust me the only whites who can afford to live in Thailand permanently are educated expats or wealthy Retiree.
