They dont care, so what I'm asking today is who is the person that will take over and reform the government into something that actually develops the country? Let me clarify this, we wont find a good candidate by voting. There are no very strong military leaders either, so who will it be. You keep acting like 77 81 was bad but that was the only time we had a functioning real government, that did not survive off of aid and had real plans going for it. Isnt that crazy?

I’m sorry but centralisation has never worked in Somalia’s history it’s going to have to take someone truly landheere to change that. To create strong institutions there’s going to have to be some level of federal control and devolving of power.

I think Somalias best bet is probably a massive NATO style pact/reworking of the constitution between tribes. Everyone controls their own lands and FGS controls xamar. Have a tribal council elite Iran-style to have the final say in decisions related to Somalia (economy, justice system, land disputes). I’ll probably make a thread on this soon.

It’s a unique system but Somalia is a unique country.

1. “NATO style pact” means every somali clan is held under specific rules that they must adhere to. If they don’t follow it be prepared for consequences. Eliminates mooryanism.
2. “Everyone controls their own lands” I trust the people who have been living on their land for centuries to know what it needs best. Look at SL/PL pre-1991 and now. Look at xamar post 2012 when FGS was installed.

Of course. But voting blocks in Somalia can never create a majority. If Isaaq + MJ elders were conspiring against each other then ultimately it comes down to Hawiye/RX as the final vote. You’d like to think they’d be pretty impartial.

If anything it forces clans to develop good relations with each other to get them onside. Better relations=less tribalism
