1. As you stated your ethnic background (Shanshi and co.)
2. Somalis that live in the South (used by Reer Waaqiyo)
3. The dialect which spans the southern coastal/riverine areas.
Most people who obsessed over your ethnicity are Somalis who have little to no interaction with y’all. Don’t pay them no mind since s hate everybody even their own intra-clan members.

No one is obsessed with Reer Xamar. Like others have mentioned, northerners, specifically Isaaq and other northern Dir, refer to anything south of Gaalkacyo as 'reer Xamar'. Most tweets about reer xamars are northern ethnic Somalis talking about southern ethnic Somalis.
When the civil war broke out in Mogadishu many men from cadaado used cadcad girls to become light skinned they use to say we will whiten our complexion with these cadcad girls kkkk
