Tigre people are 97% Muslim & only 3% Christian. Its the Tigrayans who are predominantly Christian.
I think Tigrayans in Ethiopia call themselves 'Tigre', not to be mistaken with the Tigre in Eritrea (who are majority Muslim). Pretty sure Tigrayans, Tigrinyas, and Tigres are all part of the same tribe from Tigray, it's just that Tigres in Eritrea converted due to foreign influence
