Why can’t Puntland have parliamentary democracy?

I know democracy is not cheap but a government without legitimacy is a dangerous things. The person who is exercising power should have mandate from the people or will have chaos.

As longs economic growth continues and people have faith in the system, democracy can take a back seat.

Cause Puntland is a tribalist shithole ruled by stupid clan elders instead of the educated youth.

No meaningful progress will happen in Puntland or any other shit lands in our country if we don't change this primitive tribal system we have were clan elders are the ones who make our decisions.

Democracy will not come about until people are willing to change their hearts ridden with qabyaalad , people lives will continue to be ruled by those corrupt politicians not fit to rule.

I predict that a wave of populism will hit Somalia , as internet access increases and people realise how shit the whole country is compared to the rest of the world , People will demand change and if someone promises to deliver that change of the tribal based society we live in today then he will be supported by the whole country.

Puntland is doing very well with presidential system that gives unlimited power to one man. The fact is that this is more efficient in a developing context than parliamentary democracy. Puntland has the highest standard of living of all states in Somalia, so the system is working relative to the anarchy of the south and the tribal democracy in the north.

The only problem I have with this setup is that the president is not elected by the people. I would abolish Puntland's parliament and hold elections for the president's position only.
