Why do they stare so hard like please do not look at me I remember coming back from dugsi with my friend one day and going to the mall right after so we were wearing abayas and hijabs and every single store we went in niggas were mean mugging us. My friend did not care and said that she’ll just stare right back, but I did not want any of that, it just made me so so uneasy do you guys feel the same way or do you not care at all who stares at you in public?

Except they don’t stare, they try to take quick glances out of curiosity. You don’t stare at people unless you’re looking for a problem, that’s how you get your jaw rocked.

it also helps that I’m usually with my friends and there’s like 5 of us at any moment, so if they were looking for a problem they’d get merked

I’m from Toronto and usually it’s chill but we went to this mall that was a ways from my house where there’s a lot of white people and not a lot of somalis so that’s why we were getting stares.

if I am dress lazy and look like some street thug they'll clutch their bag, walk across the street, lock their car door as I walk past them, keep their distances and pretended i do not exist even though they are side eyeing me

I started getting dressed like a thug and pretended to look angry early in the pandemic because people did not respect my boundaries while shopping for groceries, I notice that people wouldn't be as close as me with others black guys so I copied them. Worked like a charm lol
