Exactly. The US government has severely limited the number of Somalis coming in. That means the community that is here is basically it, and you have to marry within that group. I am planning on going back to Somalia anyways, so that shouldn't be a worry for me but for those staying, definitely a risk.

This what I meant about a lost identity. No we Somali's aren't black. The term black wash way all your Somali culture and heritage religion beliefs and your nation history and language .The black identity was given to the aa due to being people that have been stolen and enslaved and rebreed by force in Virginia. We Somali's don't have anything in common with those people history. We have culture, ancient history and a nation we can choose to go back to if needed and strong religious background. Ive been pulled over plenty of times in the past 2 years while driving. I find it always strange on the racial part of the ticket I never received the b for black racial label. I had received an i in racial category in all my tickets and by the way im in the deep south. So with my life experience I would be safe.
