Why do people think that the children of Israel disappeared?

There is this notion that goes around where people think the Israelis of today have nothing to do with the ones of Musa and that they are just nothing but Europeans. The fact is that there was a time during Rome where they were acting very rebellious and the leader of Rome at the time Hadrian, committed a mass extermination of them. They saw that they couldn’t survive in Rome so they fled to all parts of the world of which was mostly Europe. During their stay there they intermixed a bit with the native Europeans but most of them still married from each other which caused an inbreeding problem. It’s also a fact that a group of them stayed in the Middle East and you could tell that they are easily not strangers to the name Israel. Even the ones who stayed in Europe are very different in terms of phenotype to actual Europeans. The Israelis of today are definitely not just Europeans who have no connection to the land
