Most of these kids smoke, f*ck, and sin any damn way... So why cripple your future with a poor decision? Most 19 year olds can't even adequately prepare a breakfast and are usually still dependent on their parents financially and to some extent emotionally. Are these really the people to be thinking about such a life altering concept such as marriage?


It's like contemplating the private jet you're gonna buy when you're still broke as f*ck. You're not there yet and diving deep into possibilities that don't even exist for you yet may have a negative outcome as you lose sight on those prospective goals.

This is more about somali society as a whole, which is a slightly different conversation.

Look at it this way. People getting married younger, imo, is the symptom not the cause. As somalis societies improve, you will see young marriage go down. Work on improving young somali educational attainment, jobs and prospects etc and a lot of these younger people won't get married because it's pretty much their only option. You're talking about this like it is the cause, when it's not.
