No one “fled” from a “functioning Somalia”, that’s an oxymoron. Few left before the disintegration, and your family might be one, but even those few left because of the death squads, extreme poverty, the rebellion brewing in the North and Puntland, the blatant tribalism and corruption.
I mean I know most of you reer Somalia have a warped history of your country and you believe it was all fine and dandy because of a few photos of Xamar in the 70s. But even a rudimentary search into Somalia (outside of Xamar) would reveal a much starker picture of poverty and war. Hence why few precient ones saw where it was heading and left in the 80s.
And you can tell them apart than those traumatised souls who came much later with their ptsd and mental illness because of the destruction of the basic society.

Understandable reaction because the traits of your kind is emotional immaturity hence the childish outburst. You came from a broken place.
That is blatant lie, most Somalis refugees came through Kenya (Dadaab, Kakuma) and to a lesser extent Ethiopian (Ogaden) refugee camps.
Few have come through other countries but we are speaking of the majority. (I am excluding the recent wave who came through Libya etc).
This is something I hear often from Reer Somalia where they accuse us of what you wrote.
But again the reason is very clear if we look at the root of the problem.
Because Somalia is lawless and it has been like to that for generations, when they come to Kenya many of them expect to continue their lawlessness uninterrupted and expect Kenyan Somalis to aid them in their illegality. They will cross the border in Garissa illegally and expect to be aided all the way to Nairobi. Why should we help you? We don’t owe you anything. You want a free pass just because you are Somali? No chance.
Nothing is free in this world and because of that yes, we do charge you a fee to go through Garissa, Wajir, Mandera. And when you get to Nairobi we faciliate your stay or further travel but not for free.
If Somalinimo existed you would not be running from Somalia to Kenya.
And btw you complain of being charged a few shillings and in return you get safe passage and you get to live peacefully and prosper in our country. Something you could not get in Somalia hence why you had to run to Kenya.
So stop being ungrateful, say alxhamdulilah and pay the fkc up bych.

in-conclusion, reer Somalia you disgust me and I cross the road whenever I see one of you.
Ps: I have no problems with Somalilanders or reer Djibouti and Reer Ogadenia who, in my experience, have been well educated, cultured and much more descent than the animals above.
