Why Do We Sexualise Children?

In most Muslim countries a female doesn't wear the Hijab till she reaches puberty, but we Somalis don on them as young as 3 years old. Why do we sexualise babies?

You should be asking such questions to the parents who train their daughters to become models from a young age. From what I have seen young girls wear it to copy their mothers or other female members in the family. I would encourage it if my child was happy to wear it and make her understand the value of hijab.

The scholars always praise Somali woman because of their clothing. I believe the hijab plays a huge role in our culture. Some may wear it for religious reasons whilst others wear it because everyone else does

Well in somalia things are different. However why do you care about what people are doing if the children aren't complaining what's your problem I know a lot of children that wear hijab because they want to wear it

The Hijab is allegedly to cover the Cawro of a woman (a woman who has reached puberty), then it becomes sexualisation of children when you don on a hijab on a child? What does it matter? If a parent can train their young child to become a model or an actor with strict followings,why isn't a religious parent not allowed to teach religious beliefs to their children.

I am more concerned seeing young toddlers wearing bikinis but than again I don't judge because her parents probably thought it was ok as it is in their culture.

I've been asked this question by a Saudi guy and his wife. They thought that we Somalis raped children during the civil war and that is how the culture of Somali children wearing hijab started and is popular among Somalis.

They don't wear it for cawro purposes. A child is innocent. She will wear the hijab because her mother or sister is wearing it. You will even see a toddler grap a gabasaar so she could join in with the prayers. It's a natural aspect of growing up in a religious family. The intention is not to protect their awrah and whoever thinks so has a sick evil mind. The intention is to teach children to fall in love with the deen and that starts from a young age.
