So just because I'm not a woman I can't speak on this topic. I have sisters and relatives that wear the hijab, I guess by this logic the original poster should delete this thread because he is not a woman

Not at all. You can't tell us what it's like to wear hijab that is all I am saying. You will never know what it's like or how we feel.

I never told you how it's to wear the hijab but your original statement made it seem that hijab is forced on all children from a young age which may be true in your case but there are many people who wear it for different reasons

Are you a woman to be talking about this topic? Do you know what it is like to wear the hijab? No you don't.

I was forced to wear the hijab when I was 9 years old and even for me that was too early. I didn't want to wear it. I wanted to look like all my friends not my mother. Regardless of how I felt and my protests I was forced to wear to school, I hated it and still do to this day. Hijab is NOT a choice. It isn't and wasn't for me and the same goes for millions of other girls who wear it due to fear.
ok that's cool, but that wasn't my point? I wasn't saying they're not forced, but that the reason they wear it, forced or not has nothing to do with sexualization or covering their cawra

How many women wearing the Hijab has been or is raped back home? Rape is epidemic back home and since we adopted to a Salafi culture segregating the genders like some salafi countries, soon Somali men will start raping boys, should we put hijabs over their heads and lock them up too? The idea that if these children don't wear the hijab, then they will be raped as adults is absurd.

They are forced to wear the hijab many young girls yearn to be like their peers nobody likes to wear a bloody cloth over their head, they are brainwashed by their parents into wearing it, it is not a choice !! It is wear it and conform to the community you live in, or be be gossiped about by habyer the neighbour who thinks she's such a nun !!!, there is no choice, otherwise nobody would be wearing it if it was a choice !! These men have no right to be talking about women's sexual ornaments, bunch of pervs Somali men are. Sexualising young children even uff. The salafi wahabbi doctrine has really flourished in Somalia, we have no culture, we are slaves to the our Arab masters. To them we shall bow down to.

Sorry for what you are going through I think parents should not force young kids to wear this long cloth over their heads, it seriously undermines the child, as they cannot play sports, wearing shorts at five years old is to sexual ! Absolutely insane !! They cannot be of equality with their peers as they will always stick out from the crowd, and most importantly they will have to be separated from boys as well, gender segregation is becoming the norm in Somalia, as a consequence homosexuality will be rampant in the next decade if we don't stop this madness !! However your children will be free to choose what to wear. Thank god people are waking up to this poison

How is children not wearing the Hijab 'sexualising' them?

#StopSexualisingSomaliChildren
It is the parents may think they are introducing them to a life of being blamed for their beauty, but at the end of the day it's sexualisation of young children. Let kids be kids and let your child choose when she would like to wear it. Don't shove it in their face this will only make them hate it, not embrace it. Somalis are so uneducated it's stupid they follow eachother like sheep. Thank god my parents don't force me to wear it, atleast they have sense.

And then the young girls start rebelling when their teenagers by wearing skinny ripped jeans with a big old hijab, it's such a mix match, however to display to their peers that they still trying to fit in regardless of their hijab. I have seen so many what ?? Moments with hijabis such hypocrites.

If you really were interested in the well being of young girls you would have equally voiced your opposition when it comes to how girls are objectified and sexualised in the western world. Question is why don't you do that ?

In your crusade trying to show how backward muslims are you fail to realise your own bias and prejudice. If we fail to reflect western ideals and values then we're supposedly forcing now miya ? Parents "force" their children to go to school, play sports etc the point being children all of the over are raised accordingly to how their parents see fit. No fuss is made about it but when muslim parents raise their daughters accordingly then suddenly it becomes a problem ??

You see no value in wearing the hijab & religion in general why should your opinion matter to those who don't share your world view ? Girls who're scantily clothed are deemed free of mind and spirit, and are allowed the freedom to dress as they like. Girls who observe the quranic teachings to veil themselves are considered oppressed, and all semblance of freedom suddenly vanishes. Stop imposing your skewed western ideology on gabadheena. Your true intentions are known to us ee nin rag iska sa dhig baan ku iri.

No child should be objectified wether in the Muslim world or the western world, let children be children !!! Firstly why do you always propose those who don't wear the hijab must be wearing scantily clad clothes ? Are you stupid !!! Just because I don't wear it doesn't mean I'm walking around with boobs out wearing a mini skirt. I would never expose myself to men like that !!! However in a free country why should we dictate what women wear ? As a man you have no right to be discussing about women's sexuality and her attire. Shoo, shoo this is women only conversation. And a child should wear suitable clothing which doesn't come across as scantily clad, which parent in their right mind chooses to dress their children up like a star ??? Come on get reall, your arguments are silly

Exactly let children be children if gabdha yar choose to emulate their mothers, sisters, aunties etc by wearing the hijab who are you to deny them ?

Women who don't wear hijab aren't a monolithic group and in my example i used those who're scantly dressed to counter the narrative this guy was pushing forward. To elaborate further i wasn't even referring to muslim women who don't wear the hijab but non muslim women.

As a man you have no right to be discussing about women's sexuality and her attire. Shoo, shoo this is women only conversation

If you believed in that statement of yours, you would've said the same to the OP why didn't you ? So he gets a free pass just because he was validating what you were already convinced of ?? yaab

Similarly you shouldn't be dictating nor condescending to those women who choose to dress differently to you ? saying they suffer from stockholm syndrome simply because they don't share your views. yaabka yaabkiisa :vo3yidw::vo3yidw::vo3yidw:
