My mum been watching k dramas for years i didn't even know it was popular with Somalis I thought that was bollywood since that's all they watched when I was in Djibouti.
I used to sit there and watch with her late night sometimes cause I was bored, then I got a PC next to my bed and now I'm in my cave on game at 4am

I have it on good authority, that they actually have a decent cinema scene that is growing but looking from afar, I am just turned away. Any cinema where I am confusing the men for the women and vice versa is just going to be to be a sad affair.

That is exactly what me and my mom used to do on the other side of Somalia lol, these days I occasionally watch those old 80s/90s bollywood films, and even regard a few of them to be great films.
(Djibouti is a state of Somalia, its real in my head)

the majority are definitely cheesy with their forced overuse of english dubbed cheese music in the background. Ive only watched weak class hero and bloodhounds in full and that's because they're good action fuelled and with a strong reason for the action. 1st one regarding a bullied kid who fights his bullies, 2nd one about a man who fights to take down a crime organisation after they scammed and beat up his mother.

That was me and my mum as a kid but with Bollywood. I don’t like Bollywood like that but I know all the major stars because I used to sit there and watch it with mum. You’ve reminded me of my childhood, the good old days!
I'd rather them go kpop mode. The ratchet xalimos are disgusting to deal with. If my daughter gets into Kdramas I'll count my lucky stars.

I'm aware but sadly people tend to make their hobbies influence their personality. I would hate to have my daughter listen to Nikki Minaj and become a "Barbie" god forbid.
