You know what else i blame, they wear the same clothes but different colours. Poverty has made the country lack any variation in clothing, even men wear the same oversized striped dress-shirts and baggy pants. They lack variety. I believe if more clothing stores opened up, and provided different brands, styles and affordable at the same time, people would more likely buy fly shit. Trends change fast, and they often correlate with the country's economy. If you think about it, it makes sense. When money's tight, fashion is one of the first indulgences a consumer will sacrifice to save money. Frugality becomes more important than trendiness. Things like cultural trends, politics, and celebrity influence also plays a big part, but that too is influenced by the country's economy.

I'm well aware of that. But I just hate the cultural norm that forces women to cover up or get mocked/ostracized. Women should not be pressured by anyone to cover up in huge fabrics. Our bodies are only for ourselves.

So i'm not the only one who notices how cursed this life is in this generation? what's the point of being rich if your ppl are messed up and poor? I would never live life again if i had the choice! i've found myself cursing adam and that shitty tree more often than once.

Yeah I get what you mean. I feel like there are certain aspects of the deen some cultures tend to focus on and other don't. It varies like for example Somalis are very big on hijab but pakistanis/asians not so much. But than again, Somalis are not so strict when it comes down to gender relations. As long there's a level of respect and modesty. Somali women are not afraid to state their opinion or talk back to men, it's not so shamefull as it might be to other muslim cultures.

I agree with you on this. As an Arab I know a lot of Arab girls who are not even allowed to chat with their male cousins. I think Somalis are far less strict and conservative as a lot of other Muslims.

I don't have a huge problem with it since as Muslims, we're supposed to cover up, but I hate how intolerant our society can be. I like wearing my hair out, but that doesn't mean I'm a bad person. Even in most Arab countries, it's not unusual to see women with their hair out, but it's almost intolerable in Somali society.

I think as a Somali woman, I should have the right to wear my own hair out. When we have a society with qabiil-hatred, khat chewing, and un-Islamic superstitious beliefs, wearing hijab is the least of our worries.

Women should not be forced to cover themselves. It's between them and Allah in my opinion.

But on a serious note, i want to accumulate as much wealth as possible, invest more, get more liquid expand my business, suround my self with competent people that i can learn from, and invest and support good causes in our country. Money is the most effective tool to power and change, look at Gates, Bezos and Jobs. Changes in history has been made by few men, so be aware of your powers God has given you. For me, i have hunger for money and business, i can use my greed and ambition, and give back 10x more than anybody else. It's all for the greater good, work for the long-term and stay comitted, and you will reap the rweard with patience. Humans have become more and more wired to act on short-term impulses, through advertisement, indoctrination and social media, but if you learn to play for the long run, you will definitely see results. A study was done in the past where children were asked if they could eat one candy now, or two after one hour, guess what they found out, the children that waited to eat the candies after some time became much more successful later in their life because of delayed gratification. So controll your impulses, feed your brain with healthy and useful information that is focused on a specific cause, adapt, and plan for the long-term. Don't be a sheep.

Even if adam and eve never ate from that forbidden tree, they would still have come to earth. God has already forgiven adam and eve for their sins, and it wasn't because of their sins that we're here (that's something the christians believe). This world is our place of test, the only way we can enter paradise is if we succeed in this life. As long as you have 100% faith in allah (by praying and making dua), and live a life of honesty and good will. You're granted to enter paradise my brother. After all, no one said that life would be easy on this planet. Everyone is struggling to live, even to the point that some people are willingly to make other people as their stepping stone for their own success (may god punish them).
