In the article they mention an influencer by name who they say exploited women on tiktok. The bbc reporter contacted tiktok and got him banned after telling them about the alleged allegations against him. The reporter could have possible ties to someone who is against that guy. Who knows if this a personal vendetta or due to financial gain either. It doesn't help when most of you ignore the problem anyway. Then you are stunned that a western media sees what is going on in Somali media and goes into a state of shock. Why does no one ever address this problem?Shining a light to our problems by telling outsiders on the world stage negatively affects us. It doesn't fix the issues.
These people are mostly adults partaking in these activities. I'm of the opinion they should hold themselves accountable and grow up. They have too much free time on their hands. People don't tell others they're doing something wrong these days cause one they dc personally and two people don't receive that positively. Another thing I suspect is people enjoy watching foolish people for entertainment and to feel good about their own lives. It doesn't help when most of you ignore the problem anyway.
