Let's not be paranoid about a situation that is more common in a soap opera than in real life. If there is a female midwife to help your wife give birth, then let that happen. Otherwise, it's fully ok to let a man do it. I guarantee you any male midwife with sense only cares about the child that's coming out and not the woman's private parts.

I say this as someone already favouring natural, at-home birth with a birth attendant/doula with a track record for successful deliveries, focusing on everything from preconception to post-natal health. I'm also anti-pharma, so I need not say anymore.
