In terms of education and career. Are there signs we are going on the right direction when it comes to success? how long do you think it will take for the diaspora to climb up the ladder? I would give it 20 years when fob parents die out in the UK and USA and we have a more educated organised western Somali parents who has an in depth knowledge in how to raise their children in the west.

Asian Americans who come into America for the most part came when there educated they came to places like California and Minnesota to achieve there full potential they raise there kids to value education and force them to be financially successful there average household income is a staggering 85,00

Cuban Americans in Florida are crazy rich folks they say they came to America with nothing and achieved everything when it’s kind of a myth most of of them came to Florida after there property and wealth was taken by the state in Cuba although I’ll give em credit for rebuilding there business in a new land

I wouldn't say that. A lot of the younger generation somalis have made some improvement in terms of doing well in education and entering universities more than the older generations. Give it 20 years and see the big change when failed fob somali parents are out the picture.

He's right. A decent amount will remain poor. We will have a noticable wealth Gap within our community..

We will have a larger middle class tho in 20 years.

@Sigmundd Chinese Americans had a huge head start on us. Pay attention to all the 25-35 year old somalis around you. Not all of them are earning nice incomes.
