The Kurds were also fighting an ethnic war they used the war to free the Kurdish lands in Syria that was a huge motivation for them. What the Kurds did was impressive considering that isis was 100 times stronger than alkebab back then.

At this time in history the Kurdish were the best military force in Iraq and Syria US couldn't let them fall and supported them with airial raids and logistics. Anyone who witnessed ISIS advanced on Kobani a decade ago could remember that Kurdish cuty was going viral in international media. A common misconception that Kurdish forces defeated ISIS alone.

PKK is a Kurdish communist militia which has strong ties with the atheist nusiyri baathist regime that gave much of the northern Syria to that kurdish communist militia during the start of Syrian conflict so the regime forces can focus killing and massacring syrian people who revolted against the regime and PKK is no different as when it took control much of the northeastern Syrian territories it formed local kurdish militias such as YPG forcefully conscripting young kurds living there and indoctrinating them atheist communist ideas and PKK founder Oclan ideology.

All you said is fine except the slave part as kurds are muslims and those who were enslaved were non muslims like the Yazidi community and when it comes to degeneracy they're worse or much similar to daesh as PKK is cult movement that abducts young girls from their homes and make them basically be women who with guns that please the men in the militia in bed.

Many clans ok with status quo and maintaining there pseudo borders grazing land and watering point. and have no interest to free land they don’t see as their own. If govt offered land since they can’t pay all their salaries might motivate some to fight otherwise ain’t nobody dying for another clans land
