What is malaas?

I thought malaas means smooth round.

Isn’t xariir means silky ?
Timo xariir = silky hair.

don’t confused with xiriir.

I've only heard of silky hair being called malaas or hindi. This is the 1st time i've seen it referred to as xariir. Must be a regional difference

Hi @Heartbreakkid

I saw a thread you posted about hair. You were looking for different vocabulary. Here is a thread I posted about a year ago. It teaches you different hair type in Somali language and what they are called.

just for educational.

there is Somali sayings for educations

Learn or Teach = baro ama bar.

This is all made up, timo toosan is a literal translation from English ‘straight hair’. Timo toosan sounds like you are talking about hair that points straight up like an Afro or something. Nobody says this in real life, it sounds completely unnatural and foreign. It’s just jileec and Madow. Somalis don’t recognize anything in-between.
