It looks cute and sounds like kitten but it's actually grown.

Is that the wild cat from Asia? I'd love to know if anyone has domesticated one. Much cost a fortune to smuggle one.
I don't think they ever can domesticate one as it is part of big cat family. Btw you a Somali Christian? Am curious lol. Happy Easter. I met a Somali Christian in Minnesota before when I was made to do community service at a Church to pay ticket.

Yes I am. Thank you for your kind words.

He's a brave man. There are hundreds in Minneapolis that are underground. The ones in my city are not as secretive but still lay low.

The sand cat is really cute, but super good at hunting in the desert.

PS. The Somali cat is a big scam, it is just an Egyptian cat randomly named after Somalis. I remember when I first got on the internet and I googled the word Somali it mostly yielded Somali cat search results. This was before most Somalis were online. :chrisfreshhah:

@Western4Life

Do you also remember that? Early days of the internet, weirdly that Somali cat thing dominated the search result Somali. Probably because lots of white people have them as cats and they were the first people on the internet.

Yes I do remember around 2005. I never knew why that was the case. Do you? I don't believe it's even a popular breed but it would come up before Somalia and all the Google images were of this cat.

I read that the Somali cat is only named that because its the same as the Abyssinian cat except it has longer hair and the breeders chose "Somali" because we border them and we are similar to them lol

The Abyssinian cat came somewhere from North Africa, precisely where is unknown, but I suspect Egypt or North Sudan since they were British colonies (British people started the official breed). The 'Somali' cat is a mutant version of the Abyssinian one with fluffier hair.

Somewhere in the early 00s, possibly even as far as the mid-00s (don't remember too well), whenever you would search Somali that cat was high up in the search results.

It beats the Google front page photos of dilapidated Mogadishu and 90s civil war bodies on the streets in the 2010s.
