Saddam Hussein 100%. I do respect Gaddafi for what he did for his country, especially the Jamahiriya system which was a very successful form of direct democracy, but as a Somali nationalist I cannot look past his support for Ethiopia during our liberation war in 1977. Saddam's Iraq and Hafez al Assad's Syria were the two countries that provided the most support to Somalia and both of them defied their Soviet allies to do so. In fact, Somalia was one of the few issues that both Saddam Hussein and Hafez al-Assad were in agreement on. This is one of the reasons why I will never hate on the Ba'athist parties of Iraq and Syria, despite the vitriolic hatred for Syria in particular by wahhabist influenced Somalis on this site.
