Can yall stop playing? This is like the 50th time this question has to posted Somalia needs to level up hard cuz at this current stage I would genuinely just rather kms than go back. On top of being dangerous af Somalis are wayyy too boring asf like what tf is there to do in Somalia other than get food to eat and go to masjid (unless you’re a man you can go to the gym). No offence I do way more in my life than just shopping that simply does not exist as an option in somalia (lol I just started rock climbing:ulyin::trumpsmirk:) if I moved back to Somalia I would simply have to kms out of pure boredom (if other Somalis don’t kill me first…)

I bet as a woman that I would even get shit just for walking outside alone on the regular cuz Somalis loovveeee to nitpick the most mundane behaviours as opposed to putting their energy towards things that actually matters…. :faysalwtf:I don’t like to be inside all day. I need my mental stimulation, curiosity and adventurous spirit fulfilled and sorry somalia is not the place for that :snoop:

It's a lot better now and things are improving. Somalia just needs a new class of leaders the current ones are incompetent, corrupt, evil and stupid. Especially the federal government. I just hope the youth start going into leadership faster.

Honestly, sometimes you just need the right people to introduce those activities to Somalis back home. Rome wasn't built in a day.

No offence that’s why I bring up Somalis are boring, cuz even 99.999% of the diaspora somalis that I come across honestly don’t really have any hobbies at all (with the gym being an exception for a small minority) and if you do YOU are the weirdo (ask me how I know)!

Outside of bowling and maybe movie theatres I promise you anybody that tries introducing these types of activities in Somalia will go bankrupt. Somalis are lame as hell and don’t like trying new things….

That's not accurate. Sometimes our perspectives are limited and shaped by those immediately around us. The Somali community is incredibly diverse, with a wide range of interests. My point was that if you notice something missing, it’s up to you to create it or bring it to the attention of others.

I did not grow up around Somalis and yet I see diversity in all the people I come across.

How bad are the regions yall are from that you wouldn't want to go back?

Yup. We are all not the same. Also when it comes to back home you need to know the right people and then you get to have fun. I'd regularly go to culture events, dance events, food events, etc it was fun asf. I'd also walk wherever I wanted to walk and do whatever I wanted to do. I miss it lowkey.

I believe a decent amount of our educated professionals will move back once they retire in the west. So for gen Z like in another 20-35 years. They either might work in Somalia or just retire with a nice villa.

Somalis will never move back. Some were even saying they would move back even before the war started. They're liars. Most that go back are the elderly who escape the winter for 3 months.

I went to Xamar recently and I can't lie it's actually very nice. Especially around the central Xamar area, Hodan, Buulo Xuubey, number 4 area. I think those regions and Xamar as a whole is very easy for a diaspora to live. You can basically find anything you are used to in the UK over there. Coffee shops, supermarkets high quality restaurants are all available.

However outside of Mogadishu it is kinda difficult to live especially as a diaspora because it isnt really developed like that. You probably won't find any nice restaurants or supermarkets , electricity can just turn off any time and there isn't hot and cold water in demand.

So personally I would say Xamar yes, the rest of Somalia needs to be developed more though.
