Does she sound like someone from the Middle East?
She is from Seattle Washington.I know Geeljires here in the states whom were born in Saudia and grew up there with English accent. Guess why ? Their parents put them in private English school. To be precise, Embassy school
CS is still a really good degree. I know people are saying its oversaturated but I think its oversaturated with trashy coders. The Managers, Professors, and recruiters I've spoken to have said the undergrads/grads can't do simple code. You need to spend time learning Computer science and stop focussing only on Web dev. Branch out theres so many CS streams who are in need and trying to hire competent people. All the good CS students I know are booked and busy. Easily getting jobs.Computer science graduate. Idk how people are still flocking to such an oversaturated field. Why put yourself through that? She looks well educated, though good for her Masha"Allah.

What an interesting accentI was born and raised in the Middle East (Khaleej) myself:
He actually sounds kinda Canadian to me even though he’s probably notWhat an interesting accent
You sound like you have a mix of an American and British accent. But leaning more American

UAE citizen? Guessing not?Born in Dubai. Raised there and in Sharjah and lived in the country until I was 28. Only ever stepped foot in Somalia, Djibouti, Thailand and the USA outside of the UAE. Now have lived in The States for 1.5 years. My mother did take me to Germany and the Netherlands for like a summer when I was like 3 but I don't remember that so doesn't really count. Never seen Canada.

Still a good feild. The oversaturation is due to ppl inflating the feild who only know theory which they teach in school. They go out their way creating projects that are applicable or looking for internships and extracurricular activities.Computer science graduate. Anyone interested in tech should just do an ECE degree. Opens way more doors and can still become a software dev.Computer science graduate. Idk how people are still flocking to such an oversaturated field. Why put yourself through that? She looks well educated, though good for her Masha"Allah.

Yeah even here in Canada it's getting harder to get into CS. I think the average at my uni is mid to high 90s. I graduated HS at a good time. Even if you don't do FAANG you can still get paid really good. One of my friends family member studied at a mid-tier university here, went to America and now at 25 they make 400k. Just make sure you find your niche. Also you need to network and have personable skills. Talk to your professors and fellow students. It really opens doors for you. Just because I was kind to some people and helped them with school they are offering to get me a job at their workplace. Tech really is a way for Somali's to escape poverty and reach upper middle class status. Hopefully we dominate even more.@Keep it a boqol @gasara @SixthAbdi
Surprisingly not that many software developers actually have a computer science degree. CS graduates will always have a slight edge over software and a lot of tech jobs compared to applicants from non tech backgrounds.
Our best and brightest students nationwide are also still flocking towards CS,computer engineering, and electrical engineering.
CS is now like every other engineering major but with a bit more upside. The upside is that if you graduate from a top 20 school with a degree in CS, you have a good chance of working in a faang company. Thousands of high school teenagers nationwide know this. Hence why they try their best to get into a prestigious university.
These are the type of students you got a compete with just to get into top 20 schools
These indohyar niggas that sacrificed their childhood to make their parents happy are crashing out over university rejections because of the fear of losing out on FAANG money.
This what fang money looks like in total compensation in salary + stocks:
150k (New grad level)
220k (Intermediate)
330k (senior)
Upper range salaries are usually around 200k, 400k, and 500k+. There's even a decent amount of folks making millions.
A lot of bay area software engineers that saved up properly have been able to financially retire after working for only 10-15 years.
If your a CS graduate from a random school expect to get paid a regular engineering income after you finish school. Most engineers hover around 100-150k for most of their career.
Also a lot of engineering graduates struggle to find work after they graduate. This isnt nothing new.
