Should all Somalis get slandered because of the TikTok losers that call themselves Somali?

Fact is that Somalia and Yemen are twin countries. Your thread is creating division between the people.

Nobody is "claiming Arab", we are claiming ahlul bait who are the most noble and respected household on the planet. If the ahlul bait were Congolese we would have claimed our ancestors are buried in Kinshasa. But this idea that Somalis "want to be Arab" has got to stop, our claims were made to be closer to the Prophet (SAWS), it has nothing to do with "wanting to be Arab".

Not only does it have nothing to do with 'wanting to be Arab', it is in fact something that originated in pre-Islamic Somali culture. There is no record of Somalis claiming or believing they are Arabs- Somalis actually were remarkably resistant to Arab cultural influence despite being so close to them compared to the Persians, Turks and other peoples.

Somali culture was very influential and the families that did migrate to Xamar and other Banadir towns for example became Somali very quickly we can tell from changes in their gravestones and adoption of Somali names and customs.

There is also a historic component to the specific Ahlul Bayt claims- a lot of Ahlul Bayt came and fled to our shores where they were protected and granted refuge and a new home. This migration of many of our Prophet's relatives ﷺ and their integration into the population left a mark on our collective memory as a devout Muslim people. It was a mark of religious affiliation not claim to an Arab identity as it is taken to be now.

On top of this, there is no recorded history of Arabophilia but there is recorded history that varies from ambivalence to straight up suspicion and animosity.

The modern 'Ana Arab' stuff is limited to a minority and has specific and recent origins.

All of this said, there are families with ancestry tracing back to the Ahlul Bayt as there are in all the surrounding countries.

What changes in their gravestones? Name? As far as Ahlul Bayt, All darood and all isaaq claim it. And have for some time. And its historically untenable.

Claiming an arab lineage is claiming arab. You can't seperate the two no amount of mental gymnastics can undo that. It doesnt matter if you don't care about the arab aspect and only the religious one. Its still claiming arab. Theres nothing in islam that says you're better if you lie about beimg ahlul bayt. It was just a warped way to gain social respect theres nothing pious or good about it. Its kibir

Ethnicity isn't based on one distant ancestor. You can acknowledge it and move on like everyone else does. No one considers people of French descent lik Farage and Corbyn 'French' they are English

Anyways we arent arab, we speak somali and dna tests come back 100%. These people need to learn self love and accept the qadr of Allah
