the first thing i noticed is that the homes are bieng built by ajnabi bantus what in the world are the youth in mogadishu doing no wonder many are pushed into joining al shabab
Get jobs and bring prosperity and people won't revolt. That is what China does. China doesn't get coup or uprising because they keep their people employed and even send their people to African countries to do work. China are breeding wildly out of control and overpopulated so they gotta send their Chinese people to Africa and South America. Loads of Chinese in Africa now.

Tbh don’t hate me but I’m one of those ppl who would say the same thing but not because of clan or qabil I could careless about that shit but I think hamar was one of the only cities that got destroyed to the ground during the war and the only one that experiences random bombings on monthly basis. There’s also that huge dark cloud of shabab terror hanging in the air and the never ending threat of violence at a moments notice that up north, for example, does not experience.

I think you think there’s more going on then there actually is. The civil war ended sometime ago, then we had the era of the warlords, that ended with the Islamic courts, now al kebab has broken off and is an active terrorist group. Bombings don’t happen monthly thank God, and they so far don’t seem to target homes but rather hotels and public places as they are after prominent people. This makes real estate investment relatively safe from al kebab. There is no imminent threat of violence (besides al kebab).

It might not be for you but it’s still peoples home. Besides, terrorism is a modern problem in lots of palaces, are you about to tell the whole world never to build anything nice again incase a terrorist blows it up. It’s not practical. London transport system keeps getting attacked yet millions continue using it, right after an attack. Humans are surprisingly resilient ( or foolish).

wallahi it is just sad that such a big project cannot even employ the local youth. Is it the usual case of Somalis looking down on manual labour or is it a lack of skilled local workforce? From the looks and their English accent I could tell that whole crew is from Kenya, including the reporter!

It looks like Somalia wants to go the Emirati way where every construction job is done by foreigners. How do you leave all the construction jobs to foreigners while jobless Somali youths are idling in the streets enjoying khat?

Kenyans have horrible construction. 1 Kenyan apartment building collapsed and was on news.

El kebab blew up a hotel in xamar half a mile away and part of my parents house collapsed, luckily nobody got injured. Having said that I would still invest in xamar, in fact I’m going there this summer to see opportunities for land. It is definitely worth the risk. The 3 months I was in xamar I have lived more than all my life in europe combined.

Such cases of substandard buildings happen when a greedy developer wants to cut corners in building costs. They hire a quack contractor who does a shoddy job and evade govt construction regulators.

But all the good locations are hella expensive, unless you’re prepared to buy slightly out of town. I guess the rate the city is growing out of town will soon be central.

My auntie and cousin bought land just outside xamar but extremely close to the beach, I think it’s somewhere close to jazeera and they didn’t pay much for it. I’m hoping I can get land inside the green zone for 80k. I should’ve listened to mum 10 years ago.

A house is built in hargeisa, burco, bossso, futo biciid it’s ManshaAllah wow our tuulo is lit, let’s dedicate a thread to it. Let’s talk investment.

an apartment complex is built in xamar
- why would I invest in that shit hole
- don’t they know investing in real estate is dumb
- Its unsafe! Why bother
-waste of resources
- waste of money
-delusional
-do you know how much you could in a tuulo
-invest your money into sub sub sub clan territory
( clearly doesn’t know xamar is home to some sub sub sub clans 💀)

I think I speak for everyone from xamar when I say...

One thing reer xamar are good is business. It wasn't the largest city on the Indian ocean before the Italians came for no reason. The communist MSB and now AS are the only thing that's holding this beautiful city from reclaiming its former title.

I mean I don't think anyone is crazy enough to build 350k apartments if there's no demand for it.
That's business 101.
The desert dwellers are salty no investor is willing to build 350k apartments in their desert. Instead of asking themselves why They rather wait for the next terrorist attack in xamar to make them feel better about their desert regions. :westbrookwtf:

Right! A lot of people are showing their ignorance of the economic hustle in xamar or they’re just plain qabiiliste. Xamar is the most populated city, of course there’s a demand on land. If land prices in every tuulo form djabouti to lamu is going up why is it so hard to believe that land in the most populated and fought after city will also appreciate in value - and - by a greater margin.

But ultimately no one is relying on, or asking the regional communities to come to xamar and buy land. So they needn’t worry.

Whoever invests their hard earned money on that Hellhole of a city should expect nothing back, why not put your money in other safe parts of the city, powerfull warlord and Politicians with 100s of security detail are not even safe in B0mbdishu, overall bad investment for the fella.:hillarybiz:
Don’t insult Mogadishu. It’s a beautiful city my aunty lives there it just has some really bad security but it won’t take long for the security to improve inshallah

People not from there shouldn’t invest their hard earned capital. They are better of investing and contributing to their Federal Member States. At least your sub clan will ensure your property or investments aren’t seized by other clans.

Take your money to your sub-sub-sub clans lands.
That’s probably the most primitive thing I have ever heard

somalis and emirate arabs are majority nomads and nomads dont do manual labour as opposed to agricultral farmers so they tend to look down on manual labour as beneath them or something thats done by slaves

i think somalia will go down the path of emirates and just employ manual workers the locals aren't interested in doing these types of jobs its quite sad because they can build their country and earn a living for their families

You niggas talking smack, boy why I ought of. . .

You really asleep under those bulbous bidaars aren't you?
They've been trying to reinvent the city into a cash cow since the SB days.

M-Town is the Money Spot!

Think about it from the modern standpoint:
Once all the al-shiskabob gremlins and war criminals get kicked out (I hope hehehe), poverty replaced with more open economic oppurtunity along with more industries than Mogadishu will be a new luxury spot.

Yeah, say that's right. It's always modeled to be a place of class since it's incepted.

Milking the millions of dollars - the city better look nice for me! My peoples gots people's that still be out there.

I deserve a city that's safe for my family.
True?

Truth be told, they should raise up the price tag up some more. That'll discourage the rat pack squad from buying up the town into more petty poverty.

Real ones know what I'm talking about.
$$$$ Don't sleep on saving lives now!

It's hard to keep the cities clean and safe when there still is a war on poverty with unfair privileged hoarding wealth.

Be considerate!

The government needs to regulate this shit. the locals can barely afford food and reer dayuuspora wanna spend that much money on apartments?
Anyone who wants to build anything over 100k should be taxes at 50% for every extra 100k.
