I have no problem if a somali born and raised in Egypt or UAE says he is Arab in the same way i have no problem if western diaspora somalis day they are British, Swedish or American. My problem is when they say all somalis are Arabs. That's just not true

Somalis are Arab-adjacent. We have a lot of arab loanwords, cultural similarities, have had a lot of historical interaction through trade, migration and tribal/diplomatic relations, and share world outlook due to arab influence in media, religion, etc. You may not want to be called an Arab but th two people are very, very close.
I'd like to preface though that in racial terms we are more Sub saharan african, black or whatever you want to call it. But arab is a cultural term not a racial one so it doesnt matter.
