These people are just talking without any research 30% kulahaa. We have only a few loanwords in the south from italy. And the north has a few loanwords from english and arabic. Every country in the world shares words with other countries.

And Somalia wasnt even fully colonized you had a few clans in the north that had a treaty with the british and and the majeerteens with Boqor Osman had a treaty with the italians as did the Ajuuraan in the south. They colonized only Mogadishu, and thats the only place they built up.

From judging the amount of threads and hate Akafi gets on SSpot, you would believe he is the worst thing the Somali people are dealing with in the West.

Laakin in the past week, I have seen users ask him to kill himself, call him qowm ul luudh and other horrible stuff. Its not fair on someone who is trying to make a living for themselves in a halal manner. We also have to remember that he is a young overweight influencer and probably will not appreciate the constant barrage of hate he gets from his own people.

because they want to, did it occur to you that they don’t actually THINK akafi will stop because of them?

They know that themselves, they just want something to complain about. People can make threads and discuss things without having to try and make real change.

Also, that was just a post, not a whole thread. if he’s mentioned offhandedly in other threads once a week thats still not a lot.

And tbh, although I dislike akafi slander, I actually agree with OP that this was a bad video. Just made no sense, of course if you use literal italian loanwords there’d be “similarities”. It’s just copying.

Similarities would be like Somali and Oromo who had so much contact over centuries that some words were shared. Similarities isn’t a country colonizing another and just passing on its word to it.

It’s like saying there’s similarities between japanese and english because they say “Soccer” in Japan lol. Japan and English are completely different, same with Somali and italian.
