What qabiil incentive would I have to support Sheikh Sharif? Im not Abgaal. But look at him and tell me if he's capable of shooting up beaches and hotels? Al Shabaab are categorized by their total disdain for a conventional government. Sheikh Sharif was a failure of a president but he wasn't an extremist. Somalia owes the ICU for bringing Somalia from chaos to relative peace, everyone saw what took place. Then Al Shabaab come along and they call him am apostate, proof he wasn't ideologically aligned with them. Godane didn't form them, he led them.
