Idgaf what anyone has to say about trump being at fault, Obviously he started this. But he’s been talking about implementing tariffs against Canada since NOVEMBER. Like this isn’t exactly a secret or surprise? The question is What did the Canadian government do to prepare in advance? Did they try to negotiate with Trump? Did they try to negotiate with other countries to make alternative arrangements that would counterbalance negative impacts of trumps tariffs? FFS DID THEY EVEN TRY TO EASE INTERPROVINCIAL TRADE BARRIERSS (WHICH THERE ARE SURPRISINGLY A LOT OF)

NOPE!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
THEY HAD A FEW MONTHS TO GET READY BUT CAME UP WITH NOTHING NOW TRUDEAU IS TALKING ABOUT 25% TARIFF ON AMERICAN GOODS, that WE as CANADIANS would have to pay, AS IF OUR TAXES ARENT ALREADY HIGH ENOUGH?!??!!!!! WTF IS THAT GONNA DO TO HELP THE SITUATION. LIKE THIS MF HAS NO PLANS EXCEPT “retaliatory tariffs” ITS LITERALLY JUST HIS EXCUSE TO TAKE MORE FUCKING MONEY. Omg like I’m just so fed up. My whole point was about the RETALIATORY tariffs by Trudeau being useless, more harmful to Canadians than trumps tariffs + the fact this isn’t a surprise, if “Trudeau” had any sense he could have prepared in advance by working to enhance interprovincial trade + trade with other countries so the economic damage could be mitigated at least a little bit. But he does NONE of that and just doubles up on the damage but adding an extra tax that CANADIANS will have to pay during already hard times
