Anfac Story is Fake.

So you have no actual proof?
I can send you a Twitter link where orom military is forcing two siblings to have grape each other by gun point. Ethiopian have been documented million of time doing grape or force two family members to grape each other by gun point. Just ask your self why do ethiopian have the highest AIDS rate in East Africa

lool. If you were Somali you would know it is a near consensus on Somali social media.
chill out, I wasn’t coming for you, I don’t know how to speak Somali neither am I on Somali social media, I’m speaking from what I’ve personally seen on the English speaking side of somali social media , and it’s mostly men with the same views as you, pushing this rhetoric, so yea that kinda makes me a bit more sceptical of these claims.

anyways Allah (swt) knows the truth and whoever is right will receive their justice in hereafter.

It'd be wild if this actually turned out to be fake. I did have some suspicions when I found that it happened 2 years in 2023 and it was only now that it came out.

Yeah I'm still unsure tbh I need more rock hard evidence, but if it is real then my belief still stands that the girl gets justice and the perpetrators get punished.

But if it isnt real then fair play on her side and good on her for chasing that bag 😂 she got 25K or so USD worth in gifts (After tiktok tax) from somali tiktok yesterday if I remember correctly :cosbyhmm: Nice amount of cash for a luxury vacation lol

I’ve not commented on this situation, but what concrete proof is there that this is fake? Like I’m not seeing any proof here that it’s fake nor any proof it’s real? Both sides here have a clear agenda.

I am going to say it's true until proven otherwise with concrete or compelling evidence. That doesn't mean I think we should throw people in prison quite yet, I think there should be a serious investigation but I'm seeing more in favour for real than false so far.

How about the fact that the video she provided saying it was her being gang r*ped in 2023 was found to be from ethiopia in 2019 with a different audio.

They changed the audio, its all over Somali social media. Now she has gone into hiding and her and Dahir Alasow are refusing to involve police? While the man they accused said he wants to take it to the police.

It is a huge story on Somali social media right now and they are all shocked at the level of depravity.

The fact that she lied about and edited a video is enough tbh and that she is now hiding. I am sure more details will follow as everyone now is following the story.

Dahir Alasow is a scum bag and is known to lie and spread filth. For him, since it doesn't seem like he has a personal connection to the people involved it was probably for money and since he thrives off of sensationalism and slander.

As for her, idk much about her, one can assume for profit and that Dahir Alasow put her up to it but we don't know yet.

Nahh i still believe her story. U havent shown any proof. Ur just mad tht this makes ur gender look bad.
I believe her too and she needs justice but you should look at the bigger picture here. What does spreading this story in English do for Somalis as a collective? Nobody cares about Somali women the same way other Somali women do. Non Muslims will just use these incidences as an opportunity to paint Muslims and Somalis negatively. They don’t actually care about the victim.

These sort of stories should stay news in Kenya and Somalia. Not some sort of gossip for other Muslims or non Muslims on social media.

That's not rape culture. There is a difference between systematic, culturally accepted behaviors and crimes committed in the context of war or political instability.

"Rape culture" refers to a society where sexual violence is normalized, tolerated, or excused in everyday life.

In Somalia, while sexual violence does occur especially in conflict zones it is not widely accepted or encouraged by the general culture. In fact, Somali social norms, Islamic teachings, and traditional values strongly condemn such acts.

The existence of sexual violence in wartime or political strife is a tragic reality in many conflict-affected regions, but that alone does not define a society as having a "rape culture." A rape culture would involve widespread victim-blaming, a lack of legal consequences for perpetrators, and societal indifference to sexual violence in everyday life.

The widespread outrage over incidents like the Anfac case (regardless if it's true or not) shows that Somali society does not tolerate or normalize such acts. While law enforcement and institutional responses may be weak due to instability in some regions, this is not the same as cultural acceptance.
Every country/culture has r*pe culture to some capacity. Somalia is not immune to this. Ours is uncontrolled, ripe and normalised. You and other posters on here think r*pe culture is severe SA or r*pe when that is simply the most extreme form of r*pe culture.

We come from a country where phrases like “naag waa weel waax lagu shuubto” and “wixii xunba xawaa leh” are normalised, and there are many more examples like this. Let’s continue looking at the normalisation part of this picture. Somali women at home often wear the niqab because they do not want to be subjected to unwanted attention, as men are often uncontrollable with catcalling. The issue of non-consensual photos and videos is also highly relevant. In Somalia, there is a widespread telegram epidemic, where Somali men share inappropriate videos and pictures of Somali women. This is why reer SL refer to southern Somalia as “reer telegram” as an insult. There used to be multiple pages with over 100k followers that uploaded unsolicited videos on tiktok of Somali women at Liido Beach, especially when their dresses would stick to them after swimming.

There is also a normalisation of misogyny and inappropriate jokes among young men back home, and it is often brushed off. Watch these videos, and you'll see how prevalent they are. Why do they receive over 100k likes, and why do young children feel comfortable repeating such behaviour aloud? Why does the crowd laugh, as if it is acceptable? If Somali society shuns girls and women by using terms like “isku xishood” and “ceeb”, why are such terms never applied to young men or older men in the same way?

Now look at the assault section of this picture, which represents the most extreme form, as everything leads to this point. Everyone in Somalia and the world knows that sexual assault or r*pe is wrong. Somalia is also a Muslim-majority country, so why is it that when Muslim women face SA or r*pe, the perpetrators are rarely prosecuted? Why is it that every day, Somali women are on tiktok live crying and advocating for justice? Just a few months ago, an autistic child in Somaliland was assaulted by her grandfather. When her mother went to the police, the officer told her to speak to her clan representative, who outright refused to take the case further, arguing, “How can a grandfather do this to his granddaughter?” The granddaughter is now pregnant. All they need to do is conduct a DNA test and deliver justice, but she has been denied it to this day. Like Anfac and Luul, her case sparked widespread outrage, yet the Somali government and police continue to fail women by denying them justice. Even this video alone speaks volumes. Was this man arrested for threatening mass r*pe? In what kind of world or society is it normalised to say such things and face no repercussions?

*ignore the caption of this tweet*

At the end of the day, you and the other posters can act like rape culture isn't a thing in Somalia. All it does is lead to the normalisation of the extreme, which is r*pe and SA. This country has lacked accountability for women since the day the USC mass r*ped women, and we all moved on like nothing happened.

Somali women follow the somali men. It's a patriachal society. If men engage in start and engage clan wars, why would you think somali women would sit idly by? Their told to help their men in their endavours like a good wife/female relative. I've heard some say its shameful for women to defy their men as per the Quran. If men decided to stop engaging in qabalayad and create an orderly society, women would follow. Acting like a few cases is comparable to the systemic downfall of somalia is dumb.
you are partially right. But in the end they do have free will or not? There are 2 types of women in somalia. 1. the good ones who stay out or condemn clan wars. 2. the maniacs who wield machetes and scream for war. Not every woman is miskiin. And obviously same goes for the men. Plus the quran doesnt require obedience to injustice or violence. In fact women who resist aiding men in clan conflicts are following islamic principles, not defying them.

Found by who? Who has found that it’s from 2019? How do you we know it isn’t her ex husband’s camp saying it is and we’re just all going with it? Who has officially confirmed it? All I’m seeing is she said, he said. Hence I will refrain from commenting. The general masses will not watch a r-word video so most will have no real idea.

The guy saying let’s take it to the police could easily be fibbing. He knows that even if he did do it and at this point I admit it’s a huge question mark, he knows nothing will happen. Somali police is corrupt, so is Kenyan police.

We need someone official to step in and conform this clown circus once and for all. Because right now, I’m just seeing two camps.

Rape culture is when incidences of rape are normalized, excused, or overlooked. If we had a rape culture there wouldn’t be any protests and outrage by Somali women and men back home. Rape is not normalised like it is in some other countries. Dumb misogynistic phrases or jokes does not mean Somalia has a normalised culture of rape.

Countries like America and the UK downplays sexual violence and often blames the victim. Somalia isn’t some sort of special case where women are raped at extreme rates and it goes ignored. Even the most developed countries have high rates of sexual violence and victim blaming.

Bringing attention to issues in Somalia or Somali regions is important but it should be done in Somali. It doesn’t benefit somali women to complain about our men in English to non Muslims. They don’t care and will just use it to paint our country negatively. I wish Somali feminists had common sense

Crook, do not take my comment being about the situation at hand because as of now, I have no idea what’s true or and what’s false:

People here have a very unsophisticated view of misogyny. Abuse and prejudice against women cannot fully take place without female foot soldiers who have internalized their inferiority. Misogyny is systematic and impacts the psyche of both men and women. Example, many forced marriages in South Asia doesn’t even happen without the cooperation of an older matriarch figure like older mother or grandmother. It’s cyclical.

If you look at misogynistic societies, women themselves go on to believe very harmful ideologies that put themselves and female children at harm and you might ask why? Because of the same engineering that’s used to get men to think this way is also inflicted on women from misogynistic societies as well. No one is safe.

The issue at hand is that many Somali men have took on this issue and issues like this as a direct besmirching of their rep rather than seeing this a permissive deeply heinous world wide issue that haunts every group. Also, Dumarland women have also made the issue to be something that only Somali men do when again this is world wide.

Please note: Im not just talking about this issue since I’m confused and do not know if this is real or not, but what’s a fact is that things like this have been happening in Kenya for years: there has also been a documentary about this btw of Somali women being r-worded and recorded and there is in fact a 60,000 member telegram group in which men send each other these videos. The so called Anfac situation isn’t unique AT all if it did happen.

Men that blame women for issues they created just don’t want to take accountability and it makes you less of a man. This is why Somalia is the way it is. Why are you holding women to a higher standard and expecting them to defy rules men created in a patriarchal society if the men can’t even abandon qabyaalad themselves?

They’re not maniacs, they’re just being obedient and submissive to dumb men.
