Are Somali men experiencing the "great shift"?

It's mostly because Tiktok and Twitter had lots of viral posts making fun of us and Yusuf7n plus the two doqons on fitxfearless being viral.
Everything "issue" we have these days boils down to the internet, from our racial identity to our perceived attractiveness. Rarely has this been debated in real life, and the more you guys discuss it online the more legitimacy you provide it

With how digitalised the world is as of now and continues to be,the probability events on the internet not leaking into the real world is unlikely.

The entire UK riots were caused or agitated by online misinformation.

Not a single talking point in somali Internet I've ever discussed irl or seen mentioned. Even with my somali friends. Just live in real life
I know but Somali twitter is by and large extremely niche even to other Somalis not from the diaspora in terms of reach at least relative to viral Twitter trends.

To cut it short, majority of these "how do you know I'm Somali" online hate is close to non-existent in the real world but I warned @Einar68 that simply brushing off any future hate train that may be on par with the anti-immigration rhetoric last year that birthed the riots is foolish.

I'm doing the opposite, I think it's a big issue, i'm simply saying the solution is to ignore it.

Self fulfilling prophecy type thing, the more we engage in the somali incel talking points the larger chance it has of taking root in reality.

In all my life (in the UK, a place that was the worst for somalis in terms of integration) i've very rarely seen somalis not be seen as black or be seen as unattracive, that only happened to the older dudes (somalis who are now 28+). I'm willing to bet that non UK diaspora somalis deal with it even less. Yet that's all that's discussed about us online, shit ain't real but it will be if people don;t start ignoring those discussions

Care to link the post/person or atleast a screenshot?

I can say for certain that we won't end up like, South Asians for example, where casual racism is extremely normalised for them, as a collective culture we are the furthest from passive as you can get and will immediately step on disrespect if we believe it get's to a high enough level

The general increase in disrespect on our name is due to a lot of factors but the fact that it provides consistent online engagement is the largest reason it's blowing up, hence why I say we should stop

As for the guy saying he'd go Christchurch on Somalis and Indians, the fact that our ethnic group is even in this equation shows how much more distinct we've become as a ethnic group in online spaces, which further indicates why we need to stop engaging in this insanity, but I agree it's a step too far to ignore, Report his account and let's go from there
