ATL rapper rich homie quan passes away

I'm pretty much certain he believed in God but... I think he was one of those people who believed in God but don't actually have a religion.
There is hope for him if he believed in a creator, you don't know whether the unadulterated message of Islam reached him, especially in an age of great propaganda, lies and deception.

"Our lord do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve" 60:5.

The trial here has many facets, that includes becoming the source of oppression when they go on their rampage as the poor Gazans are experiencing and many Muslims throughout history.

But the worst form of trial for us is that we become such losers and corrupt people as we currently are as Muslims, they reject the faith based on that, which of course many do.

How many are put off by sectarianism of Muslims mostly useless squabbles over minor differences not even the major ones or some overzealous hikmah lacking idiot who tells a new muslimah revert she needs to divorce her husband, or the judgemental haram police crowd.

The fact that Allah put that ayah in a form of supplication goes to show the seriousness of this issue and that this is going to be something rampant that refuge should be sought from, and the best supplications are the ones in the Qur'an.

As a famous scholar put it, they didn't reject Islam, like that poor guy that was about to revert until some duaats told him he needs to divorce his wife which will result in him loosing his kids, and he rejected that false Islam.

That’s a fact niggas think they popping yerks they’re just popping fentanyl in pill form. Even the niggas that don’t die right away from it form an addiction and fentanyl is the WORST thing to get addicted to. It makes crack withdrawals look like a hangover compared to it. A former friend of mine is on the streets cause of it and it’s better to put a bullet in ur head then touch that shit one time. It took away his manhood all he does is beg and prostitute himself for money and spend it all on his next fix just so he can nod off and look at space. Any motivation dreams are gone ur just living solely for the purpose of getting high.

there's been some discussion about this. myself personally I don't think people like the guy I knew who died from sickle cell... or average ordinary westerners... I don't think they are excused like a someone who lives on an uncontacted island and never heard about Islam. the average ordinary western person... they have internet, they have to access to information. I don't think they have any excuse. what prevents them from looking into the dīn?

even the Crusaders who fought Muslims in the middle ages... I'm sure they weren't taught an accurate view of Islam. enemies of Muslims throughout history I'm sure were taught distorted views of Islam.

whether it's early 2000's Bush supporters... Indian Modi supporters... Jewish zionists... medieval crusaders... I'm sure the vast majority all were taught a distorted view of Islam. is that vast majority excused? I don't believe people like that guy I knew are excused, I think he is in hell or will be in hell tbh. if you have Muslims who go and try to give you dawah- and you reject it- how can that person be excused like someone on a desert island who never hears of Islam? if you hear about Islam and have access to information, that you can go and get reasonably accurate information about it... and you come across Muslims who try to give you dawah... I don't think people like that have any excuse. they voluntarily did not seek out the information. the road was there and they didn't seek it.

I don't think that verse here is being utilized properly. I think it means not being an object of torment by the kaffirs.

You just admit they were taught or exposed to a distorted view, hence what they rejected wasn't Islam.

You make valid point about the research part, but even you yourself didn't research all the religions in the world, simply assumed yours was true just as they did, people lead busy lives and this matter isn't as easy as you make it out to be, it's a reason why what we have is the greatest nimca you can have.

To claim he is in hell is to claim ilm ghaib, the only sin that isn't forgiven is shirk and by your own testimony he believed in 1 creator so there is hope for him even if he spends time in hell, we have ahadith to support this, he died upon fitrah just like those that died between the period ISA and Muhammad, and his judgement is with Allah.

Regarding the ayah the word used is fitnah, both meanings are correct linguistically and you will find this in the tafseers if you studied it, it's how Iman razi interprets that ayah, and the hadith comes to mind "why you causing fitnah" to maudh ibn jabbal when he prolonged the Salah.

Your own spouse children wife and wealth are fitnah as the quran states, and in surah furqan ayah 20 we have been made fitnah for each other, for you to narrow it down to just oppression is a great injustice to the word and ayah and it's a typical salafist type of narrow minded backwards type thinking that is keeping us down.

"people lead busy lives" kulaha. they have time to watch TV, scroll Instagram- but they didn't have time to look into Islam?

all these people who have poured a bajillion hours into tv and instagram but didn't seek out the true religion, I think it's their own fault.

I don't think the guy I knew is from ahlul fitrah. ahlul fitrah I think is like if u are an uncontacted Indian living in the Amazon. but the guy I knew- he had the means to research and learn about Islam and he even had me come visit him in the hospital and try to talk to him about Islam. he consciously made the decision not to follow Islam. I don't think he's the same as an uncontacted person on a desert island.

I also want to reiterate. According to your logic, if an IDF soldier or medieval crusader is taught or exposed to a distorted view of Islam- then wouldn't they possibly be excused as well? And wouldn't that be the case for the vast overwhelming majority of IDF soldiers and medieval crusaders?

Allah chose which humans would be Muslims and which humans would not be. some ppl may be genuine uncontacted-tribe type cases- but the vast majority of disbelievers, I think it is simply that they were not deemed worthy

Ahlu fitrah is believing in Allah alone with no partners, it has nothing to do with being uncontacted tribes etc. you would know this if you studied seerah.

You yourself who doesn't indulge in those things does not know all the religions in the world nor do you care about it, you lack very basic empathy and this is typical for salafists.

You didn't say he was a Jew or Christian, no polytheistic believes, you attest he believed in a single creator, your delivery of Islam to his death bed could just be a rejection of you.

The proof is that you made the claim you didn't know much about islam and even worse did not practice during that time when he had that disease and was dying, so what example did you set for him to follow? Why should he just take your mere words for it since obviously you didn't practice what you preached back than.

I would be worried as hell if I was you rather than pass judgement

I was there, he did not at all reject me. he rejected Islam. I think you are sort of mandating or expecting of me to adhere to an unorthodox view. what scholar is with you on this and condemns someone with my view? I think my view is the more mainstream view amongst scholars, I don't think my view is anything unusual.

even some of the pagan Arabs who fought the early Islam- even they could be excused according to your logic. idf soldiers, crusaders... who exactly is going to hell? hell is going to be empty or be small? I think the vast majority are meant for hell, hell is big and it will be filled

This is false equivalence, one is a vicious murderer that left his home country to murder, rape and pillage others while your friend was just an average human that did none of those crimes, even Muslims are not excused for those crimes.

If you look at the linguistic meaning of kafir and it's usage in the Qur'an, it was specifically targeted to those who knowingly disbelieved.

The linguistic meaning of kafir is the farmer burying the seed into the ground and covering it, the implications her is the person knows it to be true but rejects it, hence kafir is the one convinced, knows it, but rejects it for whatever reason. (I have met those)

To refute your tiktok distraction point In surah Taubah the declaration of war against polytheists we find the following in ayah 6

"And if anyone from the polytheists asks for your protection ˹O Prophet˺, grant it to them so they may hear the Word of Allah, then escort them to a place of safety, for they are a people who have no knowledge"

This is towards the end of the risalah, here you have polytheists with a prophet among them, dawah all around them, major battles the entire region knew about, Quran all around them as well as competing poetry.

Yet escort them to safety so they can hear Islam and leave them for several months, no Instagram or TV to distract them just busy life, its good enough for our Lord but not good enough for you.

The greatest mercy for humankind is that the exceedingly merciful arRahman is the judge and not the salafists.

so a Christian who was taught a distorted view of Islam, rejects it and then follows Christianity, worships Jesus, claims Allah has a son, etc.- that person according to you is not a kaffir?

what are you talking about?- nowhere have I contradicted those verses.

look let's put to the side considerations of how compassionate or uncompassionate a set of views are and- why don't you show what kind of scholarly backing your views have before you paint me as a villain for not adhering to them?

My position is the dominant, ahlu fitrah final abode will be jannah, ahlu fitrah meaning believe in Allah alone with no partners or deities.

Countless examples in the seerah for this, there was no messenger for 600 years before the final messenger, hence the judgement is fitrah and Surah Aaraf ayah 172 backs that point.

Munafiqs, mushriks and kafirs in hell, the issue we have is your interpretation of kafir here, you misapply this to everyone who is not a Muslim with the exception of uncontacted tribes.

We however take the linguistic and contextual meaning of it, those who knowingly disbelief e.g. they know Islam to be true and are convinced like Abu jahl and walid etc.

I have met those that know Islam is true but rejected based on nationalism, and hujjah is established from their own mouths.

Your friend could well fall under that definition, but only allah knows in the end.

btw @Inquisitive_ do you think we should hate gaalo for the sake of Allah? or is this a Salafi view?
Why would I hate them? And where is the command to do so?

Both me and you are witnesses for mankind and the prophet over us all.

That verse made the prophet burst in tears, because how heavy it was, that's why you and I are her today and not some dusty tuulo in Somalia.

The question is are we fulfilling that role and purpose of being the best examples to follow collectively?

Were would you be today if born into pagan family, gigantic propaganda against Islam and on top of that seeing the Muslims today being the worst of examples ?

Can you not see how extremely difficult it is for someone to ignore all of that and find time to research? And navigate through all the sectarianism filth and deviant believes? Do you not understand how fortunate we are ?

Imagine being that white family Rochdale whose daughter got groomed by those Muslims? It's not just distortion or propaganda for them, that's the other side of the definition of the ayah you reject, yet that fitnah is far more common than oppression the other way.
